Is Canada a dream country?
By R***
Things I learned from my two-years life in Canada are that it is way easier to make friends while doing sports than studying, and you don’t need to be afraid of new challenges.
In Canada, there are tons of recreation centers and sports club, so we could get fit and active. Sports are basically needed teamwork, therefore it’s absolutely perfect to make friends. We learn from each other by playing together.
Another strength of Canada is nice people. I met my precious friends in church as well as in school. It doesn’t mean everyone has to believe in God, Jesus and Bible, but there will be some people who you will never forget. I guarantee you. Let me introduce some my friends that feel like family in Highlands Church and they said to me;
Max : “You are an innocent little kid who makes people laugh”
Emily and Carley : “You are great to be with when people are sad”
David : “You are so awesome”
Whenever I came in sanctuary for the choir practice, they always welcomed me by calling my name “Ricky!!” I won’t forget them and that moment. I feel like I’m going to cry because I don’t think I can see them for a while if I go back to Korea.
Moreover, Canada has a good natural environment. You can see trees everywhere, even white tipped mountains and sparkling water. I can say Canada is absolutely stunning, beautiful and fun country. When you go to Canada school, you can experience a wide variety of differences like clubs(Kendama club, Drama, Knitting, etc), track&field, String Band, Brown bag lunch, etc. I think teachers are not strict and they try to explain ideas well. Students get many examples to understand ideas that are difficult or confusing. We also go on many field trips including outdoor school(Big house) and have a wonderful time.
You may wonder if there is no disadvantage in Canada, but everything has its pros and cons. Do you know it rains more than half a year in Canada? I had to get used to playing soccer in the rain besides I enjoyed going out to the playground at recess whether it is rain or shine.
Another downside is that parents might have to follow and support their child more than you expected when you come to Canada. I think my parents make sacrifices for us(me and my sister) because they hardly do what they want, instead, they spent most of time to take care of us.
However, in my opinion you don’t need to hesitate to come to Canada, as it will show you that world is not small and there will be opportunity to experience diversity. Enjoy yourself in Canada!
