One of the biggest challenges for us right now is the volume of emails and inquiries … and we are trying our best to respond quickly but also know that we are answering the same questions over and over. Now that the largest volume of students has left (it felt like the Evacuation of Dunkirk for a few days) here is some information that covers refunds.

현재 델타교육청은 무수히 많은 이메일과 문의사항을 받고 있습니다. 델타교육청은최선을 다해 문의주신 내용에 대한 답변을 제공해드리고 있지만, 간혹 같은 질문에 대한 답변을 몇 번씩반복하게 되는 경우가 있습니다.

많은 학생들이 캐나다를 떠났습니다. (요 며칠이 마치 덩케르크 철수작전 같았습니다.) 따라서, 아래는 환불에 관련된 내용을담고 있습니다.

 

What will be refunded? 

- Depending on date of notice of departure, all or most of April’s homestay fee and all of the homestay fees for May and June (for students who pre-pay homestay)

출국 날짜에 따라 대부분의 혹은 4월 홈스테이 비용 전무 그리고 5월과 6월의 홈스테이 비용이 환불 됩니다. (선납부를 한 학생)

- Students booked for the Rocky MountainTrip will be refunded the full amount to the card of payment directly from the Tour Company

록키산맥 여행을 신청한 학생은 여행 비용이 전액 환불 되며, 결제한카드에 여행사로부터 직접적인 환불을 받을 것입니다.

- Students booked for the Victoria Trip will be refunded the full amount either by wire transfer (if they paid cash) or to the credit card they paid with

빅토리아 여행을 신청한 학생은 여행 비용이 전액 환불 되며, 결제방식에따라 와이어 트랜스퍼 혹은 신용카드로 환불이 진행 될 것 입니다.

- Students in the Academies will be refunded for unused bussing and tuition fees (April to June)

델타의 아카데미 프로그램을 참여하는 학생의 경우, 남은 기간에 대한금액이 환불됩니다. (4월부터 6월)

 

What will not be refunded? 

- Tuition for our regular programs (as per the exceptional circumstances clause on page 7 of the contract)

델타 교육청의 정규 프로그램에 대한 수업료 (계약서7장의 조항에 따라서)

- Medical fees (which are lumped in with tuition – we do not separate medical fees and they are all inclusive)

보험 비용 (정규 프로그램 비용에 포함되는 금액입니다.)

- Homestay placement fees, application fees and custodian fees

홈스테이 배정 비용, 등록 비용, 그리고가디언 비용

- Students who are storing items at their homestays as they are on a graduation program will pay a storage fee of $50 per month

홈스테이 집에 물건을 보관하고 있는 학생의 경우 보관 비용 $50이매달 부과됩니다.

 

Please note that we will be absorbing the cost of the wire transfers and they will not be deducted from the refund. Delta International Programs will bear that cost.

와이어 트랜스퍼 수수료는 델타 교육청에서 부담 할 것이며, 환불 되는금액에서 공제되지 않을 것 입니다.

 

I am returning next year. Can myhomestay fees be put towards next year?

저는 다음 학년도에 돌아 올 예정입니다. 금액을 환불 받는 대신 다음학기에 사용해도 괜찮은가요?

As we are not charging a wire fee, we would PREFER to refund all fees for this current school year rather than have them apply to a future study term.

델타 교육청이 와이어 트랜스퍼 수수료를 대신 납부 할 예정이기 때문에, 최대한모든 금액을 환불해드리고자 합니다.

 

What will be the process?

환불은 어떻게 진행이 되나요?

Our accountant, Michelle Lu(mlu@GoDelta.ca) will email you with the calculated refund amount and will ask for wire transfer details. Once we have received that information from you, we will process the transfer.

델타 교육청의 회계사 Michelle Lu께서 계산된 환불 금액을이메일로 보내드릴 것이며, 와이어 트랜스퍼를 위한 정보를 물어 볼 것 입니다. 해당 정보를 보내주시면 그때부터 환불이 진행됩니다.

 

When can we expect refunds?

언제쯤 환불을 받을 수 있나요?

 Our initial priority has been to ensure that students scheduled for flights are prepared and ready to go – homestays are being communicated with to ensure no student and homestay is unaware of the flight or their obligations. We are also working on having phone conversations with all of our homestays and remaining students to offer support and check in on well-being. This is our first priority.

현재 델타 교육청은 귀국을 결정한 학생들이 모든 준비를 마치고 무사히 출국 할 수 있도록 확인하는 것을 가장우선 순위에 두고 있습니다. 홈스테이와도 연락을 통하여 모든 학생과 홈스테이가 그들의 비행과 의무에대해 잘 알고 있음을 확실히 하고 있으며, 남아있는 학생과 홈스테이가 잘 지내고 있는지 체크하고, 최대한 필요한 지원을 할 수 있도록 노력하고 있습니다. 이것이 현재델타 교육청의 가장 최우선 사항 입니다.

We are also currently working on making sure our payments for homestay families for April are accurate with the number of students leaving and having flight changes.

또한 델타 교육청은 학생들의 출국과 비행 일정과 관련하여 홈스테이 가족에게 정확한 비용을 지불 할 수 있도록노력하고 있습니다.

Now that this is all settling down, we are working on the refunds, but this means going student by student through all almost 200 departing students to make sure we have the amount accurate. This is also going to be a high volume of refunds for Delta School District¶s FinanceDepartment to process.

Our plan is to start sending out emails confirming refund amounts and gathering wire transfer information early next week. Once we receive confirmation, we will begin working on the transfer. Please note that international wire transfers can take 15 business days.

현재 델타 교육청의 환불 금액과 와이어 트랜스퍼 정보를 받기 위한 이메일을 다음주 초 즈음부터 보낼 계획에 있습니다. 델타 교육청이 환불 금액과 정보에 대한 확인을 받고 나면 그때부터 해당 비용에 대한 transfer를 시작 할 것 입니다. 국제 송금은 약 15일 정도의 기간이 소요될 수 있음을 안내 드리며 양해 부탁드립니다.

 

What is the cancellation and refund policy for September?

20년9월학기의 환불 정책은어떻게 되나요?

It is our sincere hope that COVID-19 is a distant memory at that point. That being said, I know that families are in need of some financial reassurance.

델타 교육청은 9월학기가 시작되기 전까지 COVID-19가 잠잠해지기를 바라고 있습니다. 하지만 학부모님들께서많이 궁금하신 사항임을 이해하며, 안심시켜 드리고자 환불 정책에 대해 안내 드립니다.

If parents choose on their own to cancel, the standard refund policy applies – cancellation before the program starts is66% of tuition and during the first month is 50% of tuition. Beyond that time, there is no refund.

만약 부모님께서 학생의 등록을 취소 할 경우, 기존의 환불 정책이동일하게 적용 됩니다. – 정규프로그램 시작 전 취소 할 경우 66%의학비가 환불되며, 처음 한달동안 취소 할 경우 50%, 그이후로는 환불이 적용되지 않습니다.

However, we have added a special refund policy as reassurance for September.

하지만 돌아오는 9월 학기의 경우,특별 조항이 추가됨을 안내합니다.

In case an official entry or travel ban is imposed by the Government of Canada and/or the Government of the country of student origin and that ban remains in place beyond 30 days after the official start date of the program prohibiting a student from arriving, a full refund of tuition (less the $200 application fee, $500 homestay placement fee and $200 custodian fee) will be granted.

만약 학생의 본국, 혹은 캐나다의 정부의 국경 폐쇄로 인하여 입국이허용되지 않을 경우 (학기의 시작일로부터 30일 이후까지도유효 할 경우), application fee와 homestay placement fee, 그리고 custodian fee를 제외한 학비 전체가 환불 됩니다.

 

What about Summer Programs?

여름 프로그램은 어떻게 되나요?

Due to the uncertainty of when schools will re-open and the hesitation of people to travel and make summer plans right now, we are cancelling our ESL Summer Program for this year. Credit summer school and summer language learning for our currently enrolled students will go forward in some format yet to be determined.

아직 학교가 언제 수업을 재개 할지에 대해 정해진 내용이 없으며, 많은사람들이 여행을 자제하는 추세이기 때문에 델타 교육청은 올해 ESL프로그램을 취소합니다. 썸머스쿨과 Summer Language Learning프로그램의경우, 예정대로 진행이 될 예정이지만 진행방식은 아직 계획 중에 있습니다.

We will offer a full refund for Summer ESLPrograms (including the application fee).

델타 교육청은 여름 ESL 프로그램에 대해 Application fee를 포함한 전액을 환불 할 예정입니다.

 

Is there any flexibility on the refunds?

환불이 융통성 있게 진행 될 수 있나요?

Unfortunately, no. These are school district approved terms and conditions in a legal contract. I am unable to be flexible with these terms. Contracts have been signed and agreed upon by parents and students.

안타깝게도 그렇지 않습니다. 해당 계약서는 교육청으로부터 승인이 난계약서이며, 법적으로 효력이 있고 부모님과 학생에게 사인을 받았습니다.따라서 환불 계약서의 내용에 따라 진행 될 것 입니다.
